If you don’t know about Deante’ then you are where I was last year. It was at a Rapsody concert where I first heard Deante’ rap and immediately felt the impact and that he had potential of being one of the few rappers coming up with a message in his music. The album he performed from was his“So much for Good Luck” EP. Usually opening acts are overlooked and people don’t really pay attention cause they’re not the star or the person you came to see. However he had the crowds attention and he was able to keep control of the crowd and make his set count. Along with Don Flamingo and GQ they all killed it and set the night up perfectly for Rapsody to come out.
I want you guys to turn on your iTunes and listen to Deante’s music while reading this. The reason for that is because I want everyone to try to guess where he is from based off of his music……… I’ll wait.
Deante’ is from Atlanta, now if you guessed correctly congratulations. I don’t have anything to offer you anything currently, but when I make it big I got you. The reason I asked this is because for me he does not sound like it . The typical Atlanta sound if you might say, sounds like the Migos and Hitchcock does not sound like that at all. His music is more laid back like a J. Cole type. This makes sense seeing as Rapsody ahs worked with Cole and they have a great relationship. It makes sense she would ask Deante’ to come along on tour with her and showcase his skills.
Ever since that show i’ve been following these artists and have been impressed with what they’ve been doing. His cool vibe involves a lot of bass but a guitar bass type of sound not the huge thumping bass we’re used to. He still uses that on songs but again his sound is different from the Migos’ sound and even the content of this project is different. Love is the theme here and he does a good job of going through different stages of it. Whether you the side nigga, you want her to come over, or you have deep feelings for her the Atlanta rapper has it covered. This project is not perfect but it’s a great listen because it’s one you can play over and over again and never gets old. Also it’s not so long to the point that you get tired of it. Neither is it so short that you wished there were more songs. It’s the perfect amount and everything falls into place just like love.
